Business overview

The Group manufactures and sells household products and conducts related ancillary businesses. There were no significant changes to its business activities or changes in its principal affiliated companies during the interim consolidated accounting period. On 21 November 2025, the Group launched its new three-year medium-term plan, “BEYOND,” and is implementing initiatives to further enhance the value it has developed as a solutions brand for “food” and “living.” Its business is centered primarily on the manufacture and sale of household products, which it markets in Japan and overseas. For Coca, domestic sales increased 4.5% year on year to ¥33,652 million, while overseas sales decreased 2.1% to ¥17,557 million, bringing overseas sales to 34.3% of total sales. Overseas sales increased following the acquisition of a Hong Kong distributor as a subsidiary, but declined from the previous year in other regions. Total sales increased 2.2% year on year to ¥51,210 million, driven mainly by higher sales of cooking appliances, household appliances and living products. By absorbing the increase in import costs resulting from the weaker yen through price pass-through, among other measures, the Group offset the increase in selling, general and administrative expenses. Operating profit increased 7.0% year on year to ¥5,212 million, ordinary profit increased 8.5% to ¥5,493 million, and interim net profit increased 3.9% to ¥3,534 million. Total research and development expenses for the period were ¥523 million. The Group’s principal initiatives during the interim consolidated accounting period included the opening of a new Zojirushi Shokudo Umeda restaurant in February 2025 as part of its efforts to achieve further growth in its food-service business. In March, it launched “Zou no Mai,” an upcycled beer made partly with test rice used in rice cookers, promoting efforts to reduce food loss and develop a circular economy. In addition, sales of high-value-added products performed well in Japan, and profit composition improved due in part to a decline in foreign exchange losses. Segment information is omitted because the Group’s business is centered on the manufacture and sale of household products. As a significant event, the provisional accounting treatment for the business combination with Lin & Partners Distributors Limited was finalized on 30 September 2025, and there were no changes in the amounts resulting from the finalization during the period. At the end of the interim period, cash and cash equivalents amounted to ¥32,251 million, while cash and deposits amounted to ¥34,467 million.
