Skymark Airlines Inc. was established as an airline serving primarily the Japanese domestic market, with the aim of introducing competition into a long-standing oligopolistic aviation market. The company’s domestic operations are centered on Haneda Airport, with 158 daily flights across 12 airports and 23 routes, primarily using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. As of the summer 2026 timetable, the company continues to operate mainly on routes to and from Haneda Airport. Routes to and from Haneda account for approximately 56% of passenger revenue, 52% of passengers and 49% of flights. The company plans to begin operating Boeing 737-8 aircraft in May 2026 and introduce 737-10 aircraft in fiscal 2027. The 737-8 can reduce fuel consumption per seat by approximately 15% compared with the existing 737-800, while the 737-10 can increase seating capacity from 177 to 207 seats. Through fleet renewal and a stronger route strategy, the company aims to improve capital efficiency and customer satisfaction. Its MVV (Mission, Vision and Value) was redefined in April 2025, setting out the objectives of improving customer satisfaction and on-time performance, coexisting with local communities, and maintaining and strengthening competitiveness through the provision of added value.
