Reason for the revision

The difference from the forecast resulted from intensified price competition and a shortfall in the number of revenue passengers for business revenue, cost increases due to inflation and other factors despite cost controls for operating income, foreign exchange gains for ordinary income, and the recording of gains on the sale of fixed assets for net income.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Business revenue was affected by intensified price competition resulting from stronger promotional activity by domestic airlines and a shortfall in the number of revenue passengers. Although operating income was affected by higher costs due to inflation, reduced government support and increased investment in human resources, it exceeded expectations as a result of reviews of operational activities, optimization of maintenance plans and cost management. Foreign exchange gains were the main factor behind the increase in ordinary income, while gains on the sale of fixed assets were the main factor behind the increase in net income. The dividend was determined after considering uncertainty in the external environment, the strengthening of retained earnings, investment in future growth and funding needs associated with the introduction of new aircraft.
