The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The increase in business revenue was supported by higher revenue passenger numbers and revenue management that assessed the balance between fares and revenue passenger numbers. Meanwhile, higher costs resulting from inflation in Japan and overseas and the weaker yen, a surge in aviation fuel prices due to the situation in the Middle East, costs associated with the introduction of new aircraft, and higher system development costs related to DX initiatives caused the operating loss to widen. Foreign exchange gains and gains on sales of property, plant and equipment from the sale-and-leaseback of aircraft spare engines reduced the losses.
