Business overview

Since its establishment in 1938, the Group has expanded from the manufacture and sale of boilers and other energy-related equipment into the environmental and public health fields, including waste treatment and water treatment plants. Its current business is divided into four segments: Environment and Energy (Domestic), Environment and Energy (Overseas), Civilian Thermal Energy, and Facilities and Systems. The domestic market accounts for the majority of net sales and is the Group’s most important segment. Under its long-term Vision2030, the Group aims to achieve sustainable growth by promoting ESG management through the use of renewable energy and its technologies and expertise in environmental conservation. Under the 14th Medium-Term Management Plan (FY2024-FY2026), the Group has identified strengthening its management foundation, reinforcing existing businesses, and responding to future environmental changes as its key pillars, and plans to strengthen its stock-based businesses, including orders for plant renewals, major renovations and new plants, operations management, and O&M. It has established 7 material issues centered on Environment, Social and Governance, and has set up progress monitoring and new KPIs. The cumulative targets for the medium-term plan covering FY2024-FY2026 are consolidated ordinary income of ¥45.0 billion, cumulative consolidated orders of at least ¥700.0 billion, and ROE of at least 11.5% for the fiscal year ending March 2027. The Group is also advancing ESG initiatives focused on climate change measures and decarbonization, and is promoting information disclosure in support of the TCFD recommendations.
