Business overview

The NIHON SHOKUHIN KAKO CO.,LTD. Group is engaged primarily in the manufacture and sale of processed products made from corn and other materials, as well as secondary processed products. Its ancillary businesses include raw-material procurement, technology exports and transportation. Operations are organized around the Starch, Saccharified Products, Fine Chemicals and By-products divisions, supported by a global supply and sales network that includes overseas affiliates. Over the long term, the Group places sustainability at the core of its operations and aims to improve profitability by providing high-value-added products, particularly saccharified products and starch products, and optimizing its facilities. Under the fiscal 2025 medium-term management plan, Chukei 2027, the Group targets consolidated ordinary profit of ¥2.0 billion ±¥0.3 billion and ROE of 5–6%. Chukei 2027 is positioned as Phase 2, the implementation phase, and sets out the realization of priority areas and creation of new businesses, a review of the earnings structure and facility optimization, mutual growth of personnel and the organization, and the pursuit of social and environmental value. Its basic financial and capital strategy is to introduce indicators aimed at improving earning power and capital efficiency and to achieve an optimal capital structure. In fiscal 2025, sales of saccharified products declined and overseas affiliates performed weakly, while starch-product sales remained firm. Fiscal 2026 is the second year of Chukei 2027, and the Group aims to achieve sustained growth and enhance corporate value based on the results of its initiatives.
