Business overview

The Group's core competency is memory technology, and it conducts integrated research and development, manufacturing, sales, and services for memory and related products. Its sole reportable business segment is the Memory Business, while revenue is classified by application as SSD & Storage, Smart Devices, and Other. Against a backdrop of rising demand for embedded memory for smart devices, products for data center and enterprise SSDs, and memory for smartphones, the Group is increasing capacity and performance and expanding its product lineup to meet the wider adoption of AI-related applications. Manufacturing is centered at the Yokkaichi and Kitakami plants, where the Group has established an integrated production system that includes Yokkaichi Plant Building 7, completed in October 2022. Construction of Building K2 at the Kitakami Plant began in April 2022, and operations commenced in September 2025. The Group has established and operates manufacturing joint ventures jointly capitalized with the Sandisk group and shares production capacity at both plants under the joint venture agreements, with approximately 80% of total production capacity shared with the Sandisk group and approximately 20% owned and operated by the Group. Over the longer term, the Group is promoting the launch of new products to address the expanding AI-enabled data center and enterprise SSD markets.
