Business overview

Fruta Fruta imports frozen pulp made from acai and other Amazonian fruits into Japan from the Tome-Açu Mixed Agricultural Cooperative (CAMTA) in Pará State, Federative Republic of Brazil, and processes and sells these products. Its core products are frozen pulp made from acai and other Amazonian fruits. In response to growing consumer demand in Japan for health-oriented and authentic products, the company is working to make these products part of consumers’ everyday diets, establish a stable earnings base in the domestic market, and expand overseas, primarily in Asia. Its business is organized into four segments: retail, foodservice, direct marketing (DM), and overseas operations. The company is working to strengthen the sales mix of these four segments in conjunction with its research and development and sustainability initiatives. In October 2011, it entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with CAMTA, granting it exclusive distribution rights in Japan for frozen pulp made from acai and other fruits, as well as sales rights in the United States, Australia, China, South Korea, New Zealand, and Oceania. The agreement has a five-year term subject to renewal conditions and is automatically renewed after expiration unless either party raises an objection. Currently, purchases from CAMTA are primarily made under this agreement, and its renewal will be carried out during the current contract term, which runs through October 2026. Sales increased from the fiscal year ended March 2022 through the fiscal year ending March 2026. For the fiscal year ending March 2026, sales were ¥3,142.522 million, up 23.3% year on year; total assets were ¥7,699.573 million; net assets were ¥7,077.723 million; and the company had 33 employees, including temporary employees. As of the end of the fiscal year ending March 2026, the equity ratio was 91.9%; ROE and ROA were not disclosed.
