The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The project aims to connect Japan’s traditional culture with Brazilian açai and create a new food culture. Açai and anko are well matched nutritionally and in terms of taste. The project is also described as being rooted in the ties between Higashi Honganji and Japanese immigrants in Brazil, as well as the shared principles of agroforestry and wagashi.
