  35. FY2017-Q1RestatedAnnual report

「Against this backdrop, to restore a trend of higher revenue and profit, we implemented various initiatives based on five pillars, including the launch of new products and strengthening the technical, customer-service and product-proposal capabilities of sales staff: establishing a strong sales structure that combines high customer satisfaction with efficiency; establishing a global production structure that delivers high quality, short lead times and low costs; and establishing a robust earnings structure by fostering a profit-oriented mindset and improving productivity. However, in addition to the impact of stagnant personal consumption, intensifying competition with other companies resulted in sales of ¥8,733 million for the first quarter of the current consolidated cumulative period, down 9.1% year on year.」

While the company reaffirmed its goal and initiatives for restoring a trend of higher revenue and profit, quarterly sales fell 9.1% year on year.

Despite lower revenue and profit, the company has set continued growth and higher revenue and profit as its goals going forward.
