Business overview

During the interim accounting period, the Company operated as a single business, selling building materials, including new building materials and housing equipment, to lumber dealers, building-materials dealers, construction companies and housing companies, among others, including sales with installation, together with related ancillary services. Against a backdrop of slowing recovery in the housing market, the Company sought to strengthen relationships with existing customers, expand sales channels into the renovation and remodeling markets and the non-residential market, and develop new business partners. In response to growing interest in energy-efficient and environmentally conscious housing, the Company also sought to expand sales of environmentally conscious products and increase construction-related sales and the scope of its construction operations by enhancing its construction capabilities. There were no material changes in the nature of the business.
