Business overview

Since its founding in 1914, the Group has operated in the thermal insulation and heat-insulation fields. In 1966, after developing the world’s first manufacturing technology for a zonotlite-based calcium silicate material capable of withstanding temperatures of 1,000°C, it expanded into fireproofing and heat-resistant materials. Today, it is primarily engaged in the manufacture, sale, design and installation of thermal insulation and fireproofing materials based mainly on zonotlite-based calcium silicate, the sale of related materials, and asbestos-related consulting and removal work. Products are supplied through an integrated structure covering the building-materials field, including fireproofing materials, noncombustible interior materials, humidity-control materials and noncombustible insulation; the plant field, including thermal insulation for plants, industrial insulation and fireproofing materials; and installation through project completion. The products are characterized by heat resistance and insulation performance in high-temperature environments, light weight, ease of processing and limited deterioration over time. They are widely used for fireproofing and insulation in high-rise buildings, petrochemical plants, thermal power plants and nuclear power stations. Domestic facilities include the Gifu Plant (Noda, Mizuho, Gifu Prefecture, and surrounding areas), the Hokusei Plant (a facility outside Gifu) and JIC Gifu, a logistics center. In Vietnam, the Group has established its consolidated subsidiary JIC Vietnam Ltd. Its overseas business is centered on JIC Vietnam.
