日本ロジテム began supplying solar-generated electricity to its sites in the Kanto region under an off-site PPA. Electricity from one solar power plant in the Tokyo area is combined with electricity from the JEPX market, with annual supply of approximately 92,500 kWh expected and CO2 emissions reductions of approximately 40.5 tonnes projected.
日本ロジテム has entered into an off-site PPA for solar-generated electricity with energy provider JERA Cross and began supplying renewable electricity to one site in the Kanto region. Supply began on 1 September.
The supply framework combines electricity generated at one solar power plant in the Tokyo area with electricity procured from JEPX in line with demand. Annual supply of approximately 92,500 kWh is expected, with an estimated reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 40.5 tonnes.
The aim is to expand environmental initiatives by using electricity generated off-site, overcoming constraints on the installation of conventional solar facilities, such as roof load-bearing capacity and site conditions.
The group has previously worked to reduce CO2 emissions by introducing LED lighting and improving logistics efficiency, and will expand its use of renewable energy by leveraging off-site generation.
