Daigas Energy will launch an on-site PPA using the roofs of logistics centers operated by Kowan, an NTN customer. The plan calls for installing power-generation equipment and supplying the electricity generated to NTN's Okayama Plant. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-October 2026, with operations scheduled to begin in April 2027.
NTN will launch an on-site PPA service under which Daigas Energy will install solar power-generation equipment on the roofs of the nearby Kowan Logistics Centers 3 and 5. The electricity generated is expected to be supplied to NTN's CVJ Axle Business Headquarters, Okayama Plant, via a private transmission line.
The business scheme is D-Solar, with Daigas Energy serving as the PPA provider. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-October 2026 and be completed by the end of March 2027, with power generation scheduled to begin in April 2027.
The facility will have a capacity of 1233.88 kW, expected annual power generation of approximately 1.43 million kWh and expected annual CO2 emissions reductions of approximately 622 tonnes.
The initiative is an example of supplying renewable energy from the roofs of a business partner's logistics centers as part of efforts to decarbonize.
