NTN will introduce a community-linked on-site PPA at its Okayama Plant. Solar panels will be installed on the roof of the nearby Cowan logistics center to supply renewable electricity.
NTN announced that it will introduce a community-linked on-site PPA at its Okayama Plant in Bizen, Okayama Prefecture, in partnership with Daigas Energy Co., Ltd. and Cowan Co., Ltd. to expand its use of renewable energy. Under the initiative, Daigas Energy will install and operate the solar power generation facility, while Cowan will provide the installation site. NTN will supply the generated electricity to the Okayama Plant.
By installing solar power generation facilities on unused space at a nearby site, the initiative is expected to generate approximately 1.43 million kWh of renewable energy annually and reduce annual CO2 emissions by approximately 622 tonnes. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with power generation scheduled to start in April 2027.
