The 21st China (Dalian) International Senior Care Industry Expo and 2nd Silver Economy Expo, held from 4 to 6 September in Dalian, Liaoning Province, featured approximately 350 companies from China and overseas, and attracted 37,000 visitors. The event was organized by three organizations, including the Dalian Health and Elderly Care Industry Federation. It covered a broad range of fields related to clothing, food, housing, mobility and leisure for older people.
JETRO established a Japan Pavilion and coordinated and supported the participation of 22 Japanese companies. Exhibitors showcased care services and workforce training, welfare and rehabilitation equipment, care-related products, hygiene and environmental facilities for care institutions, barrier-free renovations, health foods and other products and services.
Approximately 80 local care and medical institutions, wholesalers and retailers, and other businesses visited the Japan Pavilion for business discussions. Exhibitors said that many fields attracted strong interest, while a lack of awareness of potential applications and pricing were cited as barriers in some discussions.
The JETRO Dalian office announced plans for the second half of fiscal 2026 to introduce Japanese companies' products to local consumers and promote e-commerce sales as part of the JAPAN MALL program, which supports overseas e-commerce sales.
