TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION will launch the “Gift Certificate Integration Subsystem,” which links PrimeStore, a retail store system for mass retailers, with AES-GTR, a gift certificate reader manufactured by 暁電機製作所, on 30 October 2026. The company says this will automate the use, collection and tallying of gift certificates through the POS system and enable gift certificates to be used at self-checkouts without calling an employee.
The system automatically tallies gift certificate types, quantities and amounts and enables reports to be output, improving the efficiency of back-office administrative work. In addition, employee intervention will no longer be required when gift certificates are used at self-checkouts, which is expected to reduce store workload and improve consumer convenience.
Implementation requires the combined use of PrimeStore, the Gift Certificate Integration Subsystem and 暁電機製作所’s AES-GTR, improving on the previous requirement for an employee to verify the transaction. TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION says it will continue expanding its product lineup to meet on-site needs and aims to improve the customer experience.
This release was reported as a PR TIMES press release and announces TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION’s launch of a new product combining a gift certificate reader with an automation subsystem.
