暁電機製作所's AES-GTR gift certificate reader has been adopted as a gift certificate-linked subsystem integrated with Toshiba Tec's PrimeStore store system for mass retailers, streamlining the use of gift certificates at self-checkout and reducing the workload involved in collection, tallying and reporting.
It was announced that the AES-GTR gift certificate reader developed by 暁電機製作所 had been adopted as a gift certificate-linked subsystem integrated with Toshiba Tec's PrimeStore store system for mass retailers. Through the integration, information printed on gift certificates is entered automatically when gift certificates are used at self-checkout, and the collection of gift certificates is also automated. This is expected to reduce employee call-outs and the workload involved not only in checkout but also in subsequent management operations.
The main features of the integration of AES-GTR and PrimeStore are: 1) streamlining the use of gift certificates at self-checkout, 2) reducing the workload involved in collecting and storing used gift certificates, and 3) automatically tallying and reporting the types, quantities and amounts of used gift certificates, helping reduce the burden of back-office operations.
The integrated system is described as automatically entering the information printed on gift certificates through AES-GTR and collecting them, storing used gift certificates in AES-GTR's storage compartment, and enabling automatic tallying and report generation through the subsystem. The subsystem is scheduled to launch on 30 October 2026 and is planned to be provided nationwide.
For future development, the company has stated that it will work to improve store operating efficiency and convenience through both cash management solutions and cashless solutions.
