Apple has reportedly drawn up a long-term roadmap to launch more than 10 new iPhone models between 2026 and 2028. The plans are said to include a number of new products, including foldable models launched for 3 consecutive generations.
Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to launch a series of new iPhone models between 2026 and 2028, including foldable models for 3 consecutive generations and more than 10 new models, including a 20th-anniversary model in 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable “iPhone Ultra” (tentative name) are expected to arrive in fall 2026. The Pro models are reportedly set to feature an A20 Pro chip, Apple’s in-house C2 modem and improved battery life, along with dark red and pale blue body colors.
The Pro Max is expected to feature a mechanically adjustable-aperture camera. Apple has reportedly differentiated the Pro and Pro Max with different camera specifications in the past as well. The iPhone Ultra is described as a foldable smartphone that folds down to about the size of a passport. It is expected to use Touch ID for biometric authentication, feature a more advanced hinge and be priced above $2,000.
Apple plans to launch the standard iPhone 18, the lower-priced iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027. The Air 2 is expected to add an ultrawide camera and target a faster chip and longer battery life, while details of the standard model have not been disclosed. In fall of the same year, the Pro and Pro Max are reportedly set to become special-edition models featuring a design with curved glass wrapping around the four corners and sides. The change is considered a major redesign for the current Pro lineup.
