ORIX announced that it will launch a decarbonisation initiative combining onsite PPAs and virtual PPAs for Mazda and its suppliers. The initiative will be the first of its kind aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the entire supply chain of an automaker.
Estimated power generation in the first year is approximately 2.6 GWh, of which approximately 77% is expected to be supplied within facilities including Mazda's logistics facility, the Mazda KD Center, while the remaining approximately 23% in environmental value is expected to be provided to 東洋鋼鈑.
As facilities covered by the onsite PPA, plans have been outlined to install solar power generation equipment on the roofs of the Miyoshi Plant and the Hofu Plant, in addition to the Mazda KD Center.
Going forward, ORIX intends to expand its supply framework for renewable electricity and environmental value, supporting decarbonisation across the entire supply chain.
