Seibu Prince Hotels Worldwide, a Seibu Holdings group company, is launching VILLA PRINCE, a new brand focused on villa-style accommodations. The existing cottages will undergo a full renovation, with phased openings beginning on 30 July 2027 at the classic resort in Karuizawa.
Seibu Prince Hotels Worldwide announced that it will launch the new brand VILLA PRINCE (ヴィラプリンス). As its first phase, the company will renovate 233 cottages at Prince Grand Resort Karuizawa and begin opening them in stages as Villa Prince Karuizawa from 30 July 2027.
The new brand aims not only to meet demand for stays by families and larger groups, but also to attract luxury travelers seeking extended stays. The area will be divided into 4 zones, each with a different target market. Architect Ban Shigeru (坂茂) will oversee the design, which will incorporate a landscape plan that preserves existing trees.
At Villa Prince Karuizawa, new construction and a comprehensive renovation of cottages more than 50 years old will be carried out at the same time, increasing average floor area from 55 m² to 88 m². The facilities will include hot springs, fireplaces, pet-friendly features and the Mori Terrace, with different lodging experiences created for each of the 4 zones.
