「As a result, domestic sales rose 2.9% year on year to ¥27,128 million, supported by a recovery in capital investment appetite following the decline in rice prices in the prior fiscal year and the effects of various government policies. Overseas sales, however, fell 18.5% to ¥7,187 million, as sales to North America declined substantially due in part to the stronger yen, while sales to Europe and other regions also decreased. Total sales declined 2.5% to ¥34,316 million. Gross profit decreased due to lower sales and a higher cost ratio resulting from weaker production efficiency as production volume declined. Consequently, operating profit fell 43.4% to ¥707 million. Ordinary profit declined 51.7% to ¥457 million, mainly due to foreign exchange losses resulting from the stronger yen, while profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 65.6% to ¥222 million.」
