A database of companies benefiting from demand spillovers has been launched against the backdrop of Kioxia and SanDisk’s ¥5 trillion investment. It breaks down the destinations of demand generated by semiconductor equipment investment into 35 areas and researches related companies.
The launch of a database of companies benefiting from demand spillovers was announced alongside the approximately ¥5 trillion investment by Kioxia Holdings and SanDisk. The press release describes an initiative to organize and publish the investment’s spillover effects in the form of a corporate database.
The destinations of demand generated by semiconductor equipment investment are organized by breaking them down into 6 equipment functions and 35 demand areas. The analysis covers not only finished equipment but also second- and third-order demand spillovers, with the aim of identifying companies with relevant connections.
The database is scheduled to list not only company names but also each company’s connection to semiconductors, demand category and publicly disclosed track record. It is intended to help users identify connections between their own technologies and products and large-scale equipment investments.
The database will be provided through a dedicated website, with an emphasis on viewing the industry from the perspective of demand spillovers rather than the investment amount itself.
