A dedicated website has been launched to visualize demand spillovers stemming from Kioxia and SanDisk’s total investment of approximately ¥5 trillion. It shows 35 demand areas and their connections, from construction and factory infrastructure to equipment, components and materials.
According to the release, a dedicated website, the “Kioxia and SanDisk ¥5 Trillion Investment Spillover Map,” has been launched to visualize online the industries into which demand generated by Kioxia and SanDisk’s large-scale investment could spread. The site organizes demand across a total of 35 areas, including construction, factory infrastructure, equipment, components, materials, maintenance and operations.
Demand is broken down into 6 functions, covering everything from land planning and construction through delivery and operational support. Selecting an area allows users to trace online the route to major equipment and on to component and processing areas, expanding the focus beyond installed equipment to the materials further along the supply chain.
The dedicated website displays official announcements separately from demand analysis. It organizes the facts concerning the approximately ¥5 trillion investment plan and the K3 building at the Kitakami Plant based on official announcements, while presenting the other demand areas as analysis based on publicly available information.
The timing of the official launch of the corporate database has not yet been defined, but research and database development are under way for companies associated with each of the 35 areas, and pre-registration is being accepted. The items and format included at the time of the final launch may change.
