Komatsu announced that its new-generation hydraulic excavator PC138USi-12 and articulated dump truck HM460-6 have won the 2026 Good Design Award. This marks the company’s 6th consecutive year receiving the award.
The PC138USi-12 features a new cab designed to improve comfort for urban construction work, as well as a compact vehicle layout. It was recognized for improving safety and ease of use by integrating sensors and lighting into the machine.
The HM460-6 features a completely redesigned cab area. Its optimized pillar shape reduces forward blind spots while maintaining safety in the event of a rollover, a design that received high recognition.
The HM460-6 was also selected for “My Choice 2026,” a special exhibition planned by the Good Design Award judging committee.
