Himalaya lowered its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending August 2026 and now expects a net loss of ¥0.86 billion. The revision reflects the delayed recovery in demand for camping equipment and impairment losses recognized for underperforming stores.
Himalaya, a sporting-goods retailer listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market and the Nagoya Stock Exchange Premier Market, has lowered its full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending August 2026. As a result, the company is expected to swing to a net loss for the current fiscal year.
Under the new forecast, revenue is expected to be ¥61.099 billion, operating income is expected to be a loss of ¥0.29 billion, and net income is expected to be a loss of ¥0.86 billion. This compares with the previous forecast of revenue of ¥62.0 billion, operating income of ¥0.44 billion and net income of ¥0.32 billion.
Factors behind the move into the red include the delayed recovery in demand for camping equipment and the recognition of an impairment loss of ¥0.1158 billion on less profitable stores as an extraordinary loss.
