NH Foods reported first-half results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, with revenue up 6.5% year on year to ¥769.358 billion, while business profit fell 20.7% to ¥28.806 billion. The company cut its full-year business profit forecast by ¥11 billion, from ¥61 billion to ¥50 billion.
NH Foods announced first-half results for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Revenue increased year on year, but business profit declined significantly. Second-quarter revenue was ¥769.358 billion and business profit was ¥28.806 billion, while profit before tax and interim profit attributable to owners of the parent also fell below the year-earlier levels.
The core Meat Business Division posted higher revenue of ¥551.886 billion, but business profit fell significantly to ¥20.270 billion. Sales volumes grew on strong domestic demand, but worsening profitability in the Australian operations and higher feed, labor and logistics costs put pressure on profit.
The Processed Foods Business Division was also unable to absorb higher costs. Despite higher purchase prices, revenue increased, while business profit plunged to ¥1.342 billion. Higher costs for pork raw materials, packaging materials, electricity and fuel had an impact, and the plan to expand sales volumes was also not achieved.
The Sports and Entertainment Division remained strong, reporting revenue of ¥25.167 billion and business profit of ¥9.623 billion. Higher attendance at the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the expansion of food and experiential services contributed to improved profitability. The full-year forecast was left unchanged at ¥4 billion.
