On 2 November, Toyota Motor announced partial upgrades to the RAV4 and began sales of the hybrid model. Multi-Terrain Select has newly been added to all grades, enabling 4WD control according to road conditions. The upgraded PHEV model is reportedly scheduled to go on sale on 6 January 2027.
Toyota Motor has partially upgraded the RAV4 midsize SUV and began HEV sales on the same day. The upgraded PHEV model is reportedly scheduled to go on sale on 6 January 2027.
The key upgrade is the introduction of Multi-Terrain Select, which optimizes 4WD, drive-force and brake control according to road conditions.
Previously, the TRAIL mode covered off-road conditions generally, but it has been subdivided into 2 modes, MUD&SAND and ROCK&DIRT, reportedly improving driving control across conditions ranging from paved roads to snow, mud and rocky terrain.
A key feature of the upgrade is that the new modes are standard equipment across all grades.
