Otomo Hirotsugu (大友浩嗣), who is set to become president of DAIWA HOUSE INDUSTRY CO.,LTD., was born in 1959 and is from Hokkaido. After graduating from Hosei University, he joined the company in 1984, became a director and senior executive officer in 2016, and a director and executive managing officer in 2024. He is scheduled to become president in 2025.

He spent the 18 years through high school graduation in Ashibetsu, central Hokkaido, running through the hills and fields in summer and enjoying skiing in winter. His most memorable experience in elementary school was collecting stamps, and he is said to have dreamed of traveling throughout Japan.
