ANA Holdings and Japan Airlines will raise fuel surcharges from tickets issued in November, bringing the one-way surcharge for Europe routes to approximately ¥62,000. The increase for North America and Europe routes will be around ¥10,000, and Hawaii routes will also see increases.
ANA and JAL announced that they will raise fuel surcharges on international flights from tickets issued in November. The surcharge for flights from Japan to North America and Europe is expected to be ¥62,000 one way, an increase of approximately ¥10,000 from tickets issued in September and October.
The increase was determined based on average kerosene prices for August and September and the yen-dollar exchange rate, with the renewed upward trend in fuel prices contributing to the revision.
The surcharge for U.S. Hawaii routes will be ¥38,500, representing additional increases of ¥2,700 for ANA and ¥7,600 for JAL.
The announcement continues the policy of passing higher fuel costs on to passenger fares, and costs are expected to rise mainly on routes to Europe and North America.
