Fukuoka Financial Group and Kumamoto Bank are working with Yamato Transport to expand sales channels for Kumamoto products. They are building food distribution channels that connect producers with restaurants and retailers through Yamato Food Market.
Fukuoka Financial Group (FG) and Kumamoto Bank signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Yamato Transport. The aim is to expand sales channels for Kumamoto products and support the recovery, reconstruction and sustainable growth of producers in disaster-affected areas.
The partnership centers on using Yamato Food Market, a food distribution platform operated by Yamato Transport. Kumamoto Bank will broker relationships with agricultural, forestry and fisheries operators and food processors in the prefecture, while FG will handle matching with hotels, restaurants and other businesses in Kyushu. In addition to its logistics network, Yamato Transport is expected to provide ordering, fulfillment and payment functions.
At present, Yamato Food Market has about 1800 producers and about 6000 stores registered nationwide, including about 40 producers in Kumamoto Prefecture. The three parties plan to work together to increase the number of registered businesses and expand sales destinations. The period through March 2027 will be designated as the intensive implementation period.
