Fukuoka Financial Group, Kumamoto Bank and Yamato Transport signed a comprehensive partnership agreement to expand sales channels for Kumamoto products. They aim to expand sales by using Yamato Food Market to link producers’ listings with delivery services.
Fukuoka Financial Group (FG), Kumamoto Bank and its subsidiary Yamato Transport signed a comprehensive partnership agreement to support reconstruction following the Kumamoto Earthquake through food. The agreement aims to connect producers and food companies with restaurants and other businesses and support the expansion of sales channels.
The agreement envisages using Yamato Food Market, a food distribution platform operated by Yamato Transport, for producers to list Kumamoto products such as meat and vegetables. When orders are placed by restaurants, retailers, hotels and other businesses, the sellers will arrange collection and delivery.
The campaign runs through March 2027. Customers who purchase Kumamoto products will receive a coupon waiving the usual ¥1,500 service fee. About 40 producers from Kumamoto Prefecture are already registered, while Yamato Food Market has 6000 registered buyers in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Kumamoto Bank President Sakamoto Toshihiro (坂本 俊宏) said that, through consultations to support disaster-affected areas, the bank had received requests concerning “how to restore sales channels and demand.” He said the bank wanted to support producers’ growth by delivering Kumamoto’s agricultural products and food products to Kyushu and the rest of Japan.
