Box and OpenAI have announced a collaboration to create a secure environment for accessing business content in Box through ChatGPT. The enterprise integration brings together workflows from information discovery through utilization.
Box, Inc. announced the launch of an integration that further develops its long-standing partnership with OpenAI, enabling users to securely access and use important business content stored in Box through ChatGPT. This allows businesses to draw on their knowledge within AI experiences while maintaining Box security and governance.
With the new integration, users can place Box files in the ChatGPT library and then view, search, reference and edit Box content directly from ChatGPT, with Box permissions management and governance applied. The connection between Box and ChatGPT incorporates enterprise knowledge into AI-powered workflows, supporting the discovery of relevant information and the creation of new content.
Specific use cases include creating research briefs based on supplementary materials for clinical research, analyzing contract provisions and assessing risks for legal teams, supporting the preparation of financial reports, and updating production briefs and directly editing Box Notes in creative workflows. The use of tools through an MCP server enables advanced content-driven workflows, including referencing, extracting, updating and creating content.
The integration will be generally available from today to existing Box customers and customers of the paid version of ChatGPT Enterprise. Box said it is working with OpenAI to increase the flexibility with which businesses can use their content through AI.
