IBM and OpenAI have announced a new partnership to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and collaborate on cyber defense. OpenAI’s models will be integrated into IBM’s platforms, strengthening the use of AI across its consulting business.
IBM is reported to be establishing an OpenAI-focused division within its consulting business and promoting the use and certification of OpenAI Codex and the OpenAI API. This is expected to make it easier for companies to use generative AI for business process automation, data analysis and software code generation.
As part of the new partnership, OpenAI models including GPT-5.6, Codex and ChatGPT Work are scheduled to be integrated into the IBM Consulting Advantage platform. This is expected to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and contribute to stronger digital security.
The two companies are expanding their cooperation in cybersecurity and will incorporate the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, launched in June, into the agreement. OpenAI’s models are scheduled to be integrated into IBM’s Autonomous Security service.
