Honjo City had been considering the introduction of comprehensive public-facility management to address the ageing of public facilities and labour shortages. 日本管財株式会社 was selected as the preferred negotiating party following an open proposal process, and discussions will proceed toward introducing comprehensive management services covering 101 facilities.
The facilities include city halls, nurseries, elementary and junior high schools, and community facilities, for a total of 101. Building maintenance and inspections, cleaning, repair management and inspection services will be managed centrally. The service is targeted to begin next April, with a five-year term from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032.
A total of 3 operators applied under the open proposal process, and 日本管財 was selected as the preferred negotiating party. In addition to its track record, the selection evaluated such factors as its cooperation framework with local businesses and additional services.
日本管財 operates a building management and operations business nationwide and has a track record in PPP-related businesses, including comprehensive public-facility management. Through discussions with Honjo City, it will work to standardise management levels and improve efficiency across all the facilities covered.
