Ukai has opened a major Western confectionery hub in Hachioji. Centered on an atelier, the site also includes a shop, visitor area and café, with the aim of raising the confectionery business's profile as a second earnings pillar.
A new atelier serving as the major hub for the Atelier Ukai Western confectionery brand has opened in Hachioji, Tokyo. In addition to the atelier, the site includes a shop, visitor area and café, with facilities allowing visitors to watch cookies and chocolate being made at close range.
The new hub is intended to strengthen the production system, with plans to increase production capacity to approximately 3 times that of the existing atelier. Experiential facilities incorporating tours have also been introduced, including displays such as a fragrant wall.
In addition to its restaurant business, Ukai aims to raise the profile of its Western confectionery brand and develop the confectionery business as its second earnings pillar. The company intends to expand opportunities for brand exposure through the opening of this hub.
Future developments are expected to focus on the operating status of the new hub, its impact on confectionery business performance and the possibility of further facility expansion.
