Kyodo Printing announced that it had developed a new product, the “Easy-Peel Surface Laminate Tube,” designed to allow the overfilm on the surface of a laminate tube container, which has traditionally been difficult to recycle, to be peeled off and separated. It is scheduled to be exhibited for reference at TOKYO PACK 2026 from 14 October.
Conventional laminate tube containers can hinder recycling, so the company developed a new product designed to separate the tube body and overfilm when discarded while maintaining barrier properties and visual appeal.
As part of efforts to make packaging monomaterial, the product adopts a structure that allows the printed and barrier layers to be easily peeled off, enhancing separability.
The company cites the fact that consumers have increasingly adopted the practice of peeling labels off PET-bottled beverages before recycling them as a development insight.
The product is scheduled to be exhibited for reference at TOKYO PACK 2026 and may attract attention as an option for future recycling-oriented design.
