Shizuoka Gas recorded a substantial year-on-year increase in adjusted ordinary profit for the interim period and is stepping up investment to transition to a new Group structure and expand its business scope.
Shizuoka Gas, established in 1910, is a city gas company whose main supply area is central and eastern Shizuoka Prefecture. The Group has supply networks in Kakegawa, Fukuroi, Shimada, Shimoda and Gotemba, among other locations, and comprises 38 consolidated subsidiaries and 7 equity-method affiliates and other entities. It operates businesses including city gas, LPG, electricity and renewable energy, lifestyle services, engineering services and overseas operations. The Group is reorganizing its structure, including establishing an intermediate holding company, and transitioned to a new structure in January 2026.
For the interim period of the fiscal year ending December 2026, consolidated net sales were ¥103,066 million, operating profit was ¥8,828 million, ordinary profit was ¥9,895 million and interim net income attributable to owners of the parent was ¥6,540 million. Adjusted ordinary profit rose 49.7% year on year to ¥13.1 billion. Although factors including downward adjustments to selling prices under the fuel cost adjustment system had an impact, the recognition of gains on investments in anonymous partnerships as non-operating income due to foreign exchange effects contributed to profit.
The medium-term management plan targets consolidated ordinary profit of ¥13.3 billion, or ¥13.6 billion after adjustment, and ROE of 8.0% for the fiscal year ending December 2028. Total investment for the fiscal years ending December 2026 through December 2028 is ¥107.0 billion, with 88% allocated to growth investment. The Group will promote overseas operations and electricity and renewable energy as growth areas, while advancing the deepening of its core businesses and expansion of its growth businesses in tandem.
