Square Enix Holdings, Raccoon Holdings, Rokko Butter and others were highlighted as individual stocks in focus today, amid reports of takeover speculation and developments in earnings and dividend policies.
Reports in some monthly magazines suggested that Square Enix Holdings could be taken private, prompting expectations of a takeover premium. The potential acquirer and the likelihood of a deal remain unknown, but there has reportedly been speculation that 3D Investment holds approximately 18.5% of the company’s shares, and reports indicating the firm’s interest in Square Enix Holdings have also appeared in the past.
Raccoon Holdings announced its first-quarter results, reporting operating profit of ¥300 million, up 11.9% year on year. Its first-half plan called for ¥250 million, a projected decline of 56.5%, but actual results exceeded that level, putting the company on track for double-digit profit growth. New member registrations and progress in its e-commerce business were strong, and the company plans to increase investment in expanding its customer base.
Rokko Butter revised its dividend policy, newly setting a dividend floor of ¥20 and a payout ratio of at least 40%. Accordingly, it raised its annual dividend for the fiscal year ending December 2026 from the previous ¥20 to ¥30.5 and announced changes to its shareholder benefit program. In addition to the product gifts previously provided to shareholders holding at least 100 shares, the company plans to provide ¥1,000 QUO cards to shareholders who have held their shares continuously for at least 1 year.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange is considering designating Saikaya as a security under supervision. As compliance with the free-float market capitalization criterion could not be confirmed, the company was deemed to be insufficiently compliant with the criterion as of 31 August, and its failure to meet the continued listing criteria was disclosed. Depending on the outcome of the review, the company could be delisted on 1 March 2027.
