Shares of Square Enix Holdings, Raccoon Holdings and Rokko Butter, among others, moved sharply. Reports of a potential acquisition and changes to dividend policies were cited as factors behind the moves.
Square Enix Holdings rose sharply from the previous day's closing price. Reports in some monthly magazines suggested that the company could be taken private, and buying driven by expectations of an acquisition premium appears to have taken the lead.
Raccoon Holdings rebounded sharply. Operating profit for the first quarter came to ¥300 million, up 11.9% year on year. The company maintained its first-half forecast, and results were at a level above plan. New registrations by members of its e-commerce business and expanded services produced favorable results.
Rokko Butter rebounded sharply. As part of a review of its dividend policy, the company established a new target of a minimum dividend of ¥20 and a payout ratio of at least 40%, and raised its annual dividend for the next fiscal year to ¥30.5. The shareholder benefit program was also revised, with additional benefits introduced based on the number of shares held.
