JAPAN AI has launched a new initiative, with support from Microsoft Japan, aimed at expanding the use of generative AI and AI agents by businesses. As the first initiative, it announced plans to use Microsoft Foundry as the platform for its own AI infrastructure.
The initiative will also lead to consideration of integrating AI agents developed by JAPAN AI with Microsoft Copilot, as well as offering them through Microsoft Marketplace. This is expected to expand opportunities for businesses to incorporate AI agents into their operations.
The use of generative AI is evolving from simple question-and-answer applications toward AI agents that connect with corporate data and systems to support business processes. The company indicated that security, governance, connectivity with IT environments, and operational and cost management will be important requirements for an enterprise-grade platform.
JAPAN AI Representative Kudo Tomoaki (工藤智昭) emphasized the provision of solutions tailored to the needs of Japanese companies and described Microsoft Japan's cooperation as an important step toward strengthening the platform. Sato Ryota (佐藤亮太) also welcomed the use of Foundry and suggested that it could accelerate the practical implementation of AI agents in society.
