Japan Post will launch the new frozen meal delivery service “post chef (ポストシェフ),” developed jointly with クラダシ, on 8 October. The service will be offered through tablet terminals installed at post offices, the post office online shop and by telephone.
Japan Post signed a capital and business alliance agreement with クラダシ in August 2025 and has been considering combining its post office network and customer touchpoints with クラダシ’s product development and operating expertise. As one of the pillars of the alliance, the parties have now put into practice the development of a frozen meal service by post offices, jointly planning, developing and commercializing Post Chef.
Post Chef offers 2 product types: one-plate meals and side-dish pouches. Delivery is by frozen shipment, and some areas, including remote islands and mountainous regions, cannot be served.
The service aims to provide new everyday meal options by combining post offices as in-person touchpoints with ordering by the web and telephone.
