Japan Post will launch the post office frozen meal delivery service “post chef” on 8 October. The products come in 2 types, “one-plate bento meals” and “side-dish pouches,” and will be delivered by frozen parcel service. The brand concept is “Just right for today’s meal.”
The initiative is one of the measures resulting from the capital and business alliance agreement signed by Japan Post and Kuradashi in August 2025. Japan Post will provide its nationwide post office network and customer touchpoints, while Kuradashi will handle product development, operational expertise and sales operations.
Orders will be accepted through the post office e-commerce site, as well as via tablets installed at counters and by phone. The companies will consider enhancing the service going forward, including expanding the menu and sales channels.
