The 2027 RAV4, announced on 5 November, features suspension upgrades on the Woodland grade and standard NACS ports on all PHEV grades. This improves off-road capability and the convenience of charging infrastructure.
The 2027 RAV4 was unveiled in North America, with major upgrades including a newly designed Woodland-grade suspension to improve off-road capability and standard NACS ports on all PHEV grades. This is expected to improve charging convenience while away from home.
The powertrain lineup comprises a HEV with a 2.5-liter inline-four engine and fifth-generation hybrid system, producing 222 ps with FWD and 229 ps with AWD. The PHEV combines the same engine with a high-output motor and a large-capacity battery, delivering system output of up to 321 ps. All PHEV grades support Level 3 DC fast charging, the charging port has been moved to the left side of the vehicle, and the onboard AC charger has been upgraded to 11 kW.
The exterior is offered in 3 themes: Core, Rugged and Sport. The Woodland features a newly designed suspension that increases ground clearance to 9.1 inches, along with 18-inch aluminum wheels and all-terrain tires. The GR SPORT is a PHEV AWD-exclusive grade with dedicated chassis tuning and GR-tuned suspension and steering, pursuing a low center of gravity with 7.5-inch ground clearance and an overall height of 65.4 inches.
The combination of the special GR SPORT and Woodland grades is positioned as part of a strategy aimed at balancing aerodynamics and driving performance, demonstrating a new integration of design and functionality for a 21st-century SUV.
