Nagase & Co. announced that it will adopt Steward and ProPlus+ to comply with the new lease accounting standards. The company plans to improve visibility into contract information across the group and strengthen controls, accelerating preparations for the start of application in April 2027.
Nagase & Co. aims to understand the status of lease contracts across its group, which operates in approximately 25 countries and regions worldwide, and standardize its assessment criteria by adopting a solution integrating First Accounting and ProShip. The main objectives are to establish a management structure that provides an overview of the entire group, adopt an operating model suited to strengthening governance at group level, and improve the transparency of contract assessments and visibility into their underlying rationale.
Third, ProPlus+ covers the advanced management requirements of the new standards and corporate tax compliance, while its track record of supporting IFRS 16 compliance at more than 400 companies underpins its reliability. The accuracy and transparency of its AI-assisted contract assessment support were highly rated, as was the fact that the basis for assessments is visualized in demonstrations.
Going forward, Nagase & Co. will use the implementation to standardize and improve visibility into contract information, and standardize assessment criteria and management ledgers, thereby improving operational quality and enhancing its ability to respond flexibly to regulatory changes and group expansion. Based on their capital and business alliance, First Accounting and ProShip intend to provide best practices that leverage the strengths of both companies.
