Proship announced that Nagase & Co. had adopted the integrated platform for its cloud-based SaaS products ProPlus+ and Steward to comply with the new lease accounting standard. Ahead of the start of application in April 2027, the aim is to strengthen the identification and control of lease contracts across the group.
Nagase & Co. operates more than 100 group companies across approximately 25 countries and regions worldwide, making stronger contract oversight and governance an issue. The company needed to ensure comprehensive coverage of contracts at the subsidiary level and eliminate inconsistencies in individual judgements.
The reasons for the adoption included AI-assisted contract assessment and functionality suited to managing a large corporate group. Proship’s integrated ProPlus+ and Steward solution was valued for its ability to analyse contract contents using AI and objectively determine whether they fall under the new lease accounting standard.
Its compatibility with a centralised management model centred on a shared services centre (SSC), as well as its ability to visualise lease contracts across the group, was another deciding factor. Since its launch in December 2024, ProPlus+ has surpassed 1,000 adopting companies in approximately 1.5 years.
Going forward, Nagase & Co. aims to advance finance and accounting digital transformation, standardise operational quality and assessment criteria through a centralised management structure using the SSC, and build a management foundation capable of responding flexibly to regulatory changes and group expansion. By combining AI technology with practical expertise, the solution will support large corporate groups, including overseas operations, in complying with the new lease accounting standard.
