Apple's new smart home device, scheduled to be announced on 13 October U.S. time, is reportedly called HomeView and is expected to begin shipping in November. It is said to offer home hub functionality centered on Siri.
Apple is expected to announce a new smart home device called HomeView and begin shipping it in November, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported on the 11th. The device is said to feature a display and the A18 chip. Positioned as a home smart display hub centered on Siri, it is reportedly planned in 2 versions: a metal tabletop speaker base and a square wall-mounted base.
Apple was asked for comment but did not immediately respond. A product called HomePad had previously been reported, with an emphasis on Siri AI. HomeView is expected to potentially compete with products such as Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub lineup. Gurman also reported that new Apple TV models with the A19, described as set-top boxes, and new HomePod mini models with the S10 are expected to be announced.
