Apple’s new home hub, HomeView, is expected to be announced at the 13 October event and launch in mid-November, about 1 month later. It will feature an A18 chip and come in 4 colors, and will be a screen-equipped smart home hub focused on voice control.
The new HomeView is scheduled to be announced at the 13 October event, “Welcome home,” and is expected to launch in mid-November, about 1 month after the announcement. It will come in 4 colors and feature the A18 chip.
The new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini announced alongside it will begin arriving in stores on 30 October. HomeView is expected to launch later than these products, although this has not been confirmed at this point.
HomeView will primarily be controlled by voice. Although the screen will support touch input, its main use will be to issue voice commands and “view” the screen. It is reportedly not expected to have a dedicated App Store, and the possibility of displaying widgets from third-party apps has not yet been confirmed.
It has been noted that the shipping schedule could be affected by the timing of support for languages and feature enhancements in Siri AI. The view presented is that the risk to a November launch will depend on the progress of Japanese-language support.
