House Foods Group Inc. has launched “The Way Home to the Dinner Table” Project in Higashiōsaka City. In its first year, the project will distribute drawstring backpacks and carry out other activities to support children’s traffic safety.
House Foods Group Inc. launched the community co-creation project “The Way Home to the Dinner Table” Project in Higashiōsaka City in October. In its first year, the project will focus on activities aimed at improving children’s traffic safety, including watching over children on their way home from school and helping ensure their safety.
Specifically, the company plans to produce original traffic-safety drawstring backpacks and distribute them through the Higashiōsaka City Board of Education to approximately 500 first-grade elementary school students in the city. The backpacks will be primarily yellow to enhance visibility and will use screen-printing ink with reflective properties.
The backpacks will come with an accessory card made using turmeric pomace as a paper raw material. The design incorporates safety considerations based on children’s routes home from school, as well as opportunities for parents and children to learn through hands-on manufacturing activities.
FC Osaka is cooperating on regional initiatives. Through awareness activities at home games and the dissemination of local information, the project will raise interest in traffic safety and deepen ties with the community. The company plans to expand its collaboration with other local governments, schools and sports clubs.
