Takuma, together with its group company Takuma Energy, signed the Basic Agreement on a Locally Produced, Locally Consumed Energy Supply Business with the Shida Wide-Area Administrative Association, Yaizu City and Fujieda City in Shizuoka Prefecture on 25 September. Under the agreement, electricity generated at the new waste treatment facility, Shida Clean Center, being developed by the association, will be supplied to local public facilities.
Takuma won the DBO contract for the facility in March 2022 and is currently proceeding with its construction and commissioning. Operations are scheduled to begin in January 2027, with 志太ハイトラスト responsible for operating the facility for 20 years. The facility will incorporate high-efficiency waste power generation and the latest energy-saving technologies to maximize electricity output.
Takuma Energy will purchase the electricity generated at the facility and initially begin supplying it in stages to public facilities operated by the Shida Wide-Area Administrative Association, Yaizu City and Fujieda City. This is expected to contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and easing the burden of electricity costs. For Takuma Energy, this will be its 13th locally produced, locally consumed energy project, as it seeks to help create a regionally circular society.
